The SEOW has a few updates to share!
The SEOW 2021 Annual Report is now available on the SEOW website. This report summarizes the work of the SEOW in the past year (October 2020 - September 2021). The report can be found on the "About Us" page of the website and by clicking here!
The October 26 SEOW meeting minutes can be found on the "About Us" page of the website and by clicking here.
Thank you to everyone that completed the deliverable prioritization survey in September and October, and to those that participated in the accompanying discussion held in the October 26th SEOW meeting. After careful consideration of this input, the deliverables for the SEOW's 2022 fiscal year will be:
Fentanyl Brief - This report will provide an overview of fentanyl use and related prevention work within Virginia. This information guide will inform relevant stakeholders in the behavioral health and substance use fields of the emerging need and strategies to address fentanyl use.
Marijuana Legalization - This report will summarize key information related to the recent legalization of marijuana in Virginia. This will inform health organizations, providers, and the public on existing efforts that address marijuana use within Virginia and recommendations for future prevention efforts.
The Fentanyl Brief will be the first deliverable of the year, with the Marijuana Legalization deliverable occurring later in the year. The SEOW team will be in touch in the coming months with more information and requests related to the Fentanyl Brief. Please feel free to reach out if you have any specific input, thoughts, data, etc. related to the Fentanyl Brief in the meantime!
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to this coming year!
