October Deliverable and Data Spotlight

Hello SEOW Group Members,

We are excited to announce the release of two new deliverables --
Gaming and Gambling: Impacts on Virginia Youth and Young Adults and Data Spotlight: Cannabis Control Authority!

Gaming and Gambling
This report looks at how gaming and gambling affect youth and young adults and how gaming and gambling can affect other aspects of public health, including substance use and mental health.

As we heard from many of our SEOW members, gaming and gambling is a growing issue and we hope to share the information in this report to communities across Virginia to support their prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts. Please share this document with any agencies and email lists you know that could benefit from a better understanding of the differences between gaming and gambling, current statistics on gaming and gambling, how gaming and gambling affect aspects of public health, including substance use and mental health, and resources for those struggling with gaming and gambling.

Data Spotlight: Cannabis Control Authority
This spotlight highlights the results of the Cannabis Control Authority’s survey on Virginians’ attitudes toward cannabis use and driving as part of a safe driving campaign highlighting the risk of cannabis-impaired driving.

The spotlight looks at the dataset, what the data is telling us, how partners can use the data, and how to access the data.
