National Prevention Network Virtual Conference: SEOW Highlights
On August 26, Julia Simhai presented at the National Prevention Network's annual conference as part of a panel about state epidemiological outcome workgroups (SEOWs). The session was titled "Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroups: Leveraging Multi-Sector Expertise to Advance Prevention in Changing Environments" and featured representatives from the SEOWs of Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia. Each SEOW representative spoke about the structure of their workgroup, the partners involved, and the initiatives they have pursued.
Thank you to all the Virginia SEOW members and everyone else in Virginia who has contributed to the SEOW's initiatives over the years. This presentation and all the ongoing work of the SEOW would not be possible without your support. In particular, OMNI would like to recognize Gail Taylor of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services for her leadership to bring the SEOW to life and sustain its place in the Virginia prevention landscape. Virginia has become a model for other states on making local data accessible and useful, and we're thrilled to be a part of these efforts.
We look forward to many more years of collaboration on the SEOW's meaningful and impactful work.
